Happy Holloween!!!!

I have no idea how to express what Holloween was like for me. I filmed from the Parade and it was amazing. I'd never even gone to the parade before so the opportunity to film for Calling Out and Strange Fruit TV had me on PINS and NEEDLES.....I was AWESOME! Here's some pics.

Girls, Girls, Girls.........Girl Tyme

I had a great time last night hanging with the girls. We talked and talked and talked and talked and there was lots of laughter with a classic ending at BBQ's. In addition to hanging with those I already know I met a few very nice and interesting ladies. So I want you to meet a new (well it's new to me) meet-up group, that I'm going to be joining, and I think it's cool. Miss Kitty was there, there being Club Rebel, and she introduced her show "Ask Miss Kitty" where you can ask anything you like about toys and toy play. Her show will be an internet blog and radio show.

I have to run now but I'll be back real soon. I know I know I always say that but I really do mean it this time. I've got new show ideas and hopefully after today a new camera person that can follow us everywhere so we can get back to talking about the issues. I love yall. Join the meet-up group at www.meetup.com/girltyme and I'll see you real soon.

Homophobic Reggae Star’s Shows Canceled

Buju Banton has had several U.S. performances canceled after LGBT advocacy groups organized a campaign to stop the promotion of the singer whose lyrics encourage burning, shooting in the head, and pouring acid over the faces of gay people.Internet campaigns gathered more than 650 complaints for Live Nation, the promoter that owns the House of Blues venues where Banton was set to perform.Though Banton agreed to the Reggae Compassionate Act in 2007, he now denies promising not to perform songs that advocate homophobia. His scheduled shows in Chicago, Las Vegas, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Philadelphia have all been canceled by promoters in response to a petition and e-mails from LGBT people and their allies.
To quote Ellen DeGeneres: It's a "gay win!"

My "New" Position on Religion

As some of you know I am so not a subscriber to organized religion. I am pleased to announce that there may be a change in my opinion. I attended church services on Sunday at the Center. It was Family of Faith Ministries, Pastor Yvonne Harrison aka Rev. Ezie. Now the thing is I didnt go to church initially for the service. I went because I was interested in interviewing Rev. Ezie for our show. First of all I left my camera, I actually FORGOT it. "Not a problem", I thought to myself I'll just sit throught the service and see what she got to say and make an appointment to meet with her some other time. NO EXPECTATIONS!

So you all know that I say the samething everyday before leaving my house, "Dear God, please protect me from your followers". Yeah I do because Christians scare the daylights out of me.

So Guess what happened......Yup the unthinkable. I was so moved, even before the service started. The people, all kinds Gay, Straight, Black, White there was dance and poetry all empowering and uplifting, more than that it related to my life. THEN (yes, there's more) the service was AMAZING she spoke on swagger v annointing. I won't get into the details (gonna save it for the interview) but what I wanted to say is that, there's a spark of flames for me where this ministry is concerned and my hope that someday I'd find an unbias, non-judgemental, diversified, welcoming, "for the people" church has been renewed. I found myself in Church "participating" and enjoying in and I felt comfortable, well very comfortable.

Needless to say, I'll be back to worship with Family of Faith Ministries and I'll also be filming some of the services for you because you know I love to give you live video's. Additionally, look for my interview with Rev. Ezie.

I love yall!
